The special feature of Chi Sense treatments is that they adjust the Chi state for the clients in combination with use of the
well-known western therapeutical methods, so that the resultant enhancement of the Chi energy level will bring healthy and
energetic results to Chi Sense clients.
The Chinese believe that as well as the body being made up of individual organs, they interact with each other on a global
or holistic level - in a fundamental interconnectedness of all (Twentieth Century Western physics has a parallel with aspects
of quantum physics). If a particular organ is sick, never look only at that organ, but at the whole body to find the root cause.
Flowing throughout the body is what is known as 'Chi' or energy, which runs along a complex series of pathways, known as
meridian lines, closely related to the nervous and vascular systems, connecting all parts of the body. The Chi is found at
a molecular level, and to find a western parallel, it could be the force that holds the atoms and molecules together -
electromagnetism.
When the Chi runs throughout the body very strongly, the body is at its best and most efficient. When Chi is weak, or the meridian
lines are blocked at certain points, then the body sickens. The body should be in perfect equilibrium - yin and yang,
a balance of aggressive or outward forces, and passive or inward ones. This does not just relate to the physical body,
but to the mind as well (many imbalances, and sicknesses stem from the brain, including stress). A number of practices
use these principles, including Shiatsu, Acupuncture, and Chi Kung. Chi Kung, older than Tai Chi, is a complex series of
breathing exercises, which revitalise both body and soul by working on the Chi energy. Tai Chi uses breathing and movement
for similar ends, and the two forms are generally practised side by side.
This combination of Chinese traditional philosophy and the modern western method, is the principle behind Chi Sense's health
and beauty therapies.
Example of treatment plan
Back Pain: caused by muscular or spinal problems. We provide a combination of Chinese Tuina, Cupping/Guasha, Reflexology and TDP Lamp treatments. All four treatments are effective in their own right, but they have proved to be particularly beneficial when combined. This combination of treatments offers a holistic solution to many common (and some less common!) back, shoulder and neck ailments, which are increasingly prevalent in our increasingly stressful lives.
Of course some pains come and go, but others persist and can get worse to the point of almost immobilising the sufferer. It is definitely best to get some therapy before an injury or muscle problem gets to this stage.
Testimonials
Having suffered from fairly severe back, shoulder and neck pain, I can vouch for the effectiveness of combined therapy ¨C I immediately felt better from the treatment, but, more importantly, this improvement continued over the next couple of days, after which time I was almost completely free from any pain or stiffness - whereas before I was becoming afraid I might not be able to even turn my head, such was the acuteness of the pain I was experiencing.---John, Spitalfields
